Biosecurity Organisms Register for Imported Commodities
(updated 23 June 2009)The Biosecurity Organisms Register for Imported Commodities (BORIC) records organisms that may be associated with plants or plant products that are imported into New Zealand. The quarantine status for each species is indicated i.e. regulated or non-regulated. Appropriate action will be taken by the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) for regulated species intercepted at New Zealand's border. This list is updated frequently, usually at 1-2 week intervals.
No more than 2000 pests will be displayed for any search due to the large volume of data.
Searching for pest names
Choose your options and enter the word/s into the boxes then click on the Search button.
- All or part of a name can be entered and searched.
- Search fields are not case sensitive.
- Some synonyms of scientific name have been included and can be used in a search.
- The Reset button will clear any search criteria previously selected.
