The Government has agreed to the following measures to assist farmers, growers and foresters recover from the Lower North Island Storm Event on 15-18 February 2004. Florida red scale is a scale insect with a preference for citrus, particularly navel and Valencia oranges and grapefruits, which was identified at the "Winter House" at the Auckland Domain Gardens and several glasshouses at the nearby Domain Nursery, which supplies the gardens with plants.
