Advisory – Delay to sea squirt surveillance in Whakatane
Biosecurity New Zealands’s planned surveillance of Whakatane for the sea squirt, the clubbed tunicate, has been postponed until next week due to poor water conditions in the area.
The agency was set to inspect marine structures in the area for the presence of the organism tomorrow and Friday.
The water is, however, too murky to proceed at this stage.
A further advisory will be sent once a new inspection date is finalised.
