The general aerial operation against painted apple moth is ON today, Thursday, 29 January. This scheduled general aerial operation will treat the 5 high-risk areas - Hobsonville, Waikumete Cemetery, Motions/Meola Creek, Ranui/Swanson & Riverpark a total of less than a 1,000 hectares.
As a guide, given continued favourable weather and the completion of an operation in a single day, then it is highly likely that:

- Hobsonville and the 57 hectares of difficult vegetation within Riverpark and Ranui/Swanson will be treated by the helicopter. The helicopter operation should be completed by 8am with Hobsonville being treated first.
- The small plane will treat the Riverpark area then Motions/Meola Creek, Waikumete Cemetery with the Ranui/Swanson area being treated last.
- All treatments are expected to finish by mid morning.
Even though the aircraft may be in the air there will be NO treatment between 8am and 9am as children travel to school.
During summer general aerial operations, in the 5 high-risk areas occur approximately every 21 days.
