Innovation and Research Policy
The Innovation and Research Policy Directorate is responsible for the production of a range of agriculture and forestry statistics and forecasting data and documents; advising on innovation in the agricultural, food and forestry sectors; and the management of the Sustainable Farming Fund, which supports rural communities to achieve economic, environmental and social sustainability. In addition, the Directorate manages MAF Policy’s Operational Research programme.
Publications include the Situation & Outlook for New Zealand Agriculture & Forestry (SONZAF), Farm Monitoring, the National Exotic Forest Description (NEFD), the Sustainable Farming Fund (SFF) newsletter, and the Rural Bulletin.
