Sustainable Programmes
Sustainable Programmes is responsible for implementing and administering the operational elements of the various forestry schemes and likely agricultural schemes (once legislation is passed). It is important that all of the forestry related interventions are managed together because of the potential synergies and opportunities for sharing information and resources. It is also important that where the stakeholders are common, such as the forestry sector, that MAF services are well aligned to provide an integrated set of information and integrated services to these stakeholders and customers.
Forestry schemes include:
- Afforestation Grants Scheme
- East Cost Forestry Project
- Forestry in the Emissions Trading Scheme
- Indigenous Forest
- Permanent Forestry Sink Initiative
Follow the link to go to the Sustainable Forestry page on the MAF website for further information on the above programmes / schemes.
In order to be effective, there are also close linkages and co-ordination between Sustainable Programmes and the other Directorates within MAF Policy. Close links are also required to other parts of MAF and other government agencies.
