New Second Level Domain. The Council of InternetNZ has created a new second level domain .maori.nz recently. This is the first new second level domain in the NZ namespace since 1996. Soon to follow will be the process by which the domain name can be used in practice.
New Landcare Site www.LandcareResearch.co.nz Landcare Researchs public website has been extensively revamped and updated, and is designed to be useful for anyone with an interest in NZs environment. Its new features include: a reorganised research section to present the work and capabilities of Landcare Research; access to new scientific databases; improved access to publications; new educational resources for both students and teachers; more illustrations and photographs; more dynamic Jobs and News sections; and a superior search function that picks up Word and PDF files.

European Online Journalism Awards BBC News Online was the big winner at this years European Online Journalism (EOJ) Awards, collecting prizes in seven of the 17 categories. Now in its fourth year, the EOJ competition attracted a record 875 entries, and was judged by 122 European journalists and digital media specialists.
