Draft Code of Welfare for Commercial Slaughter
The National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (NAWAC) wishes to advise that a code of welfare for commercial slaughter has been drafted. The draft code will be released for further consultation on 12 January 2006 and the closing date for submissions is 27 February 2006. The draft code may also be inspected at MAF, Pastoral House, 25 The Terrace, Wellington. It will also be available on the MAF Biosecurity New Zealand Animal Welfare Group website at http://www.biosecurity.govt.nz/regs/animal-welfare.
