Helping Disabled Access Information and Communication Technologies
The Unlimited Potential Learning Foundation (UPLIFT) is part of a worldwide Microsoft Unlimited Potential Grant Scheme, which aims to increase computer literacy amongst under-served communities. This will be done through a series of free courses with the course content adapted to the specific needs of each community.
Applications from projects serving disabled people are considered one of the priority areas. This initiative has the potential to provide real opportunities for the disability community to develop information and communication projects and businesses initiatives. Courses are available around the country. The application deadline for the first course in Auckland is 28 February 2006.
