Dedicated Webpage for Older People - www.msd.govt.nz - The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) has launched a dedicated webpage for older people on its website. The new webpage brings together information that was spread across different areas of the MSD website and the websites for the Office for Senior Citizens, Work and Income, and Family and Community Services. It provides information on:
- the NZ Positive Ageing Strategy;
- MSD's retirement income and employment services;
- other MSD services for older people (including the Family and Community Services National Directory and the SAGES Older People as Mentors programme);
- MSD policy, research and evaluation relevant to older NZers; and
- links to key government agencies and non-governmental organisations.
The 125 Most Important Questions Facing Science - http://www.sciencemag.org/sciext/125th/ - To celebrate its 125th anniversary, Science magazine put together a special series of articles that look at the top 125 scientific questions of our time. The content is mostly a collection of essays which consider the big questions facing science over the next quarter century or so. In addition to the articles, Science invites readers to discuss the selections and perhaps suggest their own in an online forum.
Human Migration and DNA - https://www.nationalgeographic.com/ - This National Geographic site will help you understand the course of the great migrations undertaken by prehistoric humans and how we are able to follow their routes through the study of DNA traces. All human populations have in their cells one of the genetic markers traced here. The site's creators also provide a section on general genetics to educate you on the principles of the workings of genes and chromosomes, on how we pass our characteristics on to our children, and on the structure of DNA. You can even order a Public Participation Kit to sample and submit your own DNA and discover your own genetic background.

Longest Domain Name. This, the world's longest domain name, is a quote from German literary genius Friedrich Schiller. The 200th anniversary of his death is being marked this year. The domain name is for the website operated by the German Language Society.
