Violence Against Children on Cyberspace

ECPAT International has recently released a new global report on Violence against Children in Cyberspace. The report includes chapters on abuse and exploitation of children online and also a brief chapter on children's exposure to pornography. The report stresses that weak laws and fragmented industry action is exposing children around the world to increasingly serious violence through the Internet and other cyber technologies.

ECPAT is a network of organisations and individuals working together to eliminate the commercial sexual exploitation of children. It seeks to encourage the world community to ensure that children everywhere enjoy their fundamental rights free from all forms of commercial sexual exploitation. The ECPAT acronym stands for "End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes".

Written as a contribution to the UN Study on Violence Against Children, the report is now available at www.ecpat.net
