Sustainable Farming Fund - 2nd Round
The second round of applications for grants from the Sustainable Farming Fund has closed with 264 grant requests being received. Funds were requested for projects that would enhance rural communities' social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Compared to the first round, a smaller number of applications was received in this round, but the quality of applications was higher. Applications are currently being as-sessed, and officials contacted applicants recently to develop projects further.
The 26 projects funded under the first round of the Sustainable Farming Fund are making progress. As part of the contract with successful applicants, project teams have to supply quarterly reports, which are assessed against agreed targets. Funding for the next quarter depends on those targets being met.
