Beware Internet Scams. The Consumers' Institute has issued a warning about new variant in a long-running scam circulating over the Internet, which they say is just a new twist on the notorious Nigerian Letter Scam. People are advised to ignore emails from one Henri Toure asking for help to retrieve cash funds of US$30 million. In the email, Mr Toure claims he was chief aide to a former military leader in the Ivory Coast, from whom he got the money. He then asks people to help him get the cash out of the country, and promises a share of the fortune. However, once the scamsters gain someone's trust, they ask them to send money to help with unexpected complications in the deal, and fleece them of thousands.
