Monitoring Reports

2008

MAF's monitoring reports examine the production and financial status of farms, orchards and vineyards throughout New Zealand. These reports contain:

  • models of major farm, orchard and vineyard types;
  • analysis of the relationship between financial results and the sustainability, productivity and adaptability of the different sectors;
  • discussion about issues facing the sectors and how the sectors are collectively and individually dealing with these issues.

2008 Pastoral monitoring early releases

This year MAF has published the 2008 Pastoral Monitoring early releases to make key results for farm models available to the industry. Each early release highlights key points as well as model budget and expenditure financial results and forecasts. Sheep and beef early releases will be published at the end of September 2008.

The complete 2008 Pastoral Monitoring Report will be published in December 2008. It will provide information on the production and financial status of dairy, deer and sheep and beef farms, as well as trends, issues and sector concerns.

2008 Horticulture and Arable monitoring early releases

This year MAF has published the 2008 Horticulture and Arable early releases to make key results for orchard, vineyard and arable farm models available to the industry. Each early release highlights key points as well as model budget and expenditure financial results and forecasts.

The complete 2008 Horticulture and Arable Monitoring Report will be published in September 2008 and will provide an overall picture of the current and forecast situation on arable farms, orchards and vineyards.

2007

In 2007 we revised the way the annual reports are presented. The Horticulture and Arable Monitoring Report covers the horticultural and arable sectors in one report, in place of the three reports published in previous years: Horticulture Monitoring Report, Pipfruit Monitoring Report and Arable Monitoring Report. The Pastoral Monitoring Report will be published in November 2007, and will cover the dairy, deer, and sheep and beef sectors. We will not publish regional reports in 2007.

The combined reports allow the different horticultural and pastoral sectors to be compared and contrasted, and provide an overall picture of the current and forecast situation on farms orchards and vineyards.
