Summary statistics for land use, animal numbers, soil drainage, point source and effluent discharges, and dairy ponds were provided by Environment Waikato for the 73 watersheds analysed in this study. Some of these statistics were derived from datasets purchased by Environment Waikato under formal licensing agreements with external agencies, as follows:

Animal numbers – AgriQuality New Zealand Limited
Soil drainage – Landcare Research New Zealand Limited
Resource consent data (point source and effluent to land discharges) was derived from the Environment Waikato Authorisation database (RUAMS).
