Vet Bonding Scheme
To address shortages of veterinarians working with production animals, the Government has committed to a Voluntary Bonding Scheme for Veterinarians. The Scheme provides a taxable payment of $11,000 for every year, up to five years, that vets work in an eligible veterinarian practice.
In each year (running from 23 February to 22 February) there will be 30 places available for recent veterinarian graduates to enter the Scheme. These places will be filled in the order that applications are received and approved by MAF, until the cap of 30 has been reached.
Applications for the 2010 intake open on 23 February, 2010, and close on February 22, 2011.
