Changing People in a Changing Land

Changing People in a Changing Land is designed for use by form 3 and 4 students in social studies. It also provides useful case studies for Form 5 Geography and Technology, and Form 6 Agriculture and Horticulture.

The resource introduces the concept of sustainable agriculture and investigates six major types of farming in New Zealand, explaining how each farming system works.

Changing People in a Changing Land is an activity-based resource kit for schools. It provides a comprehensive education programme of farm management and the agricultural industry in New Zealand.

Changing People in a Changing Land is designed to fit in with the Social Studies curriculum. The resource also provides case study material for Form 5 Geography, Horticulture and Agriculture.

The resource comes with a comprehensive teacher's guide, statistical data, investigations, maps, graphs, photos and further contacts guide.

The activities are complemented by a specially developed board game called "Crossroads" where players compete to become guardians of the land.

Changing People in a Changing Land can be introduced as a new topic, but is also designed to build on the Form 1-2 resource, Living with the Land.
