April 2009
E-news Number 26 for project teams and all those interested in Sustainable Farming in New ZealandFollowing the recent cross-Government line by line budget review, funding available under the Sustainable Farming Fund's general and climate change categories will be reduced by $2.75 million (GST incl.) per annum for the 2009/10 year. Sustainable Farming Fund Manager Denis Packer says: "This reflects the difficult economic and fiscal circumstances that the country currently faces. The reduction will bring the fund back to $9 million (GST incl.) per annum in total - about where it was two years ago. "This means that, in the latest funding round, the bar has been set a little higher so some projects will miss out on selection. "However, the Fund will continue to support projects that add value to the financial, environmental and social performance of New Zealand's land-based sectors." Funding for existing SFF projects will not be affected. If you have any further questions, please contact Fund Manager Denis Packer.
