Emissions Return (Expiry/Termination)

Purpose of form

To record changes in carbon stock for registered Carbon Accounting Area(s) as at the expiry/termination and calculate an entitlement to receive/obligation to surrender emissions units.

When to use this form

Within 20 working days of submitting a Transfer of Registration (Expiry/Termination) [103K PDF] form.

Who should use this form

The Transferor (whose registered forestry right/lease is expiring/terminated)

Information you need to complete the form

  • the Lookup Table Guide [1.0M PDF] for information and guidance on how to calculate the net change in carbon stocks for each Carbon Accounting Area (CAA) you wish to include in the emissions return
  • the Climate Change ( Forestry Sector) Regulations 2008, schedule 6, Tables of carbon stock per hectare for post-1989 forest land;
  • the Carbon Accounting Area (CAA) reference numbers previously registered for the Participant;
  • the name and contact details of the applicant(s);
  • Participant name and holding account number;

Subsequent Obligations

Surrender of emissions units (only if applicable).

Options for submitting form

You can submit a Post-1989 Emissions Return (Expiry/Termination of Registered Forestry Right or Lease) form by printing, completing and sending the form Emissions Return (Expiry/Termination) [ 77K PDF] to MAF by postal mail.
